Challenge

The challenge was to effectively showcase Airbnb Experiences, which emphasized curated activities.

Relying on still photography alone to encapsulate an entire experience proved to be a challenging method for engagement, as users expressed a need for more comprehensive information before committing to a booking.

Developing a strategy to vividly depict these activities and provide users with enhanced details became crucial to address this issue.

Creative Approach

Recognizing the need to enhance the presentation of our content, we shifted our focus from mere documentation to compelling storytelling within the product.

To execute this shift, a comprehensive content strategy was developed, centering around the integration of video and photography grids. In this process, new benchmarks have been put in place, elevating our approach to content creation and setting higher standards for engaging storytelling within the Airbnb Experiences platform.

The objective was to transform the user experience by providing a more visually engaging narrative, allowing potential users to immerse themselves in the essence of each experience. 

Outcome

The result was a harmonious blend of creativity and functionality, providing our users with an enhanced experience. This impact was evident not only in the elevated visual appeal, but also in measurable success—a remarkable 25% increase in the price point of Experiences, a concrete reflection of the tangible value derived from our concerted efforts. Furthermore, the overwhelming satisfaction of our guests is a testament to the resonance of our vision—91% of Experience bookings receive five-star reviews, underscoring the transformative and inclusive nature of Airbnb Experiences.
